Hotel-Restaurant Köhler

A house with history.

About us

Our family-run hotel offers you a warm welcome right in the centre of eastern Stuttgart, only a fifteen-minute walk away from Schlossgarten (Castle Gardens).

Our rooms are cosily furnished with wooden wardrobes and bedsteads, the floors are made of laminate in wood design, linen and bedding in red-and-white checks round off the friendly impression.

All rooms have landline telephones and cable TV, WIFI and some rooms are en-suite.

The nearest stop of the Stuttgart tram (Metzstraße/SW) is only 20 metres from our front door. From here tram line U14 can take you direct to Stuttgart Central Station or the city centre (both about 2.2 kms to the west).

With easy driving distance you will find the House of Baden-Württemberg History, the National Theatre of Stuttgart, the Mercedes-Benz-Arena and, once in a year for three weeks, the widely reputed fair of Cannstatt (Cannstatter Wasen).

So why pay for things you don't need anyway?!

Our room decor is minimalist, cozy but not cold. With the free WiFi you stay connected to the whole world at all times and if you do need a tip for organizing your stay, we are happy to be there for you with all our enthusiasm for our city.

Let us convince you!

"The Köhler"

Our familial Hotel-Restaurant was founded by my great grandmother Berta Köhler in 1915 as a wine tavern. In the thirties, the 'Köhler' was very common by the so called 'Catcher' who had constant appearances in the city hall on the other site of the street (where nowadays the SWR is settled).

Shortly before the end of World War II our house was completely destroyed. Berta and Hermine Köhler (my great grandmother and grandmother) did the rebuilding time by time. Since 1980 my parents Christa and Manfred were running the business until early 2018.

Since that time, I, Dani, am managing the business of our family establishment in the forth generation together with my friend Andreas, my dad Manfred and our dogs Woody and Rocky.
